man went out hunting at Emain Macha, and killed three hares. As he was preparing to cook them on the edge of a rock, he heard a voice from the rock singing the praises of three princes.
These princes, sang the voice, were noble, venerable, handsome and bold, swift and agile, fighters fit for any service. They had great hosts and splendid households in Emain Macha. They were royal heirs without deception, the true stuff of princes.
"What you have done, man, is shameful", the voice said. "The three sons of Conchobor mac Nessa, Cormac Connlongas, Coirpre and Cúscraid Mend Macha, came to the síd, and took the form of three hares, which you have killed."
The hunter was horror-stricken, and ran away leaving his game.
